New Instrumentation for Fermentation Program Arrives
Students will be arriving next week to start classes at EKU but won't be the only ones arriving to campus. Faculty in the Fermentation Science Program will be trained on a state-of-the-art GC/MS system that will be installed next week. The system with capabilities of neat, headspace, and SPME sample injections will be able to analyze aromatic compounds that are commonly associated characteristics of beer, wine, and spirits. The instrumentation will be able to identify those compounds and how they change with different factors during production.
