The Degree Program
The Fermentation Science Program has been integrated into the B.A. Chemistry degree program. The program will be interdisciplinary where students who enroll in our program will need to be dedicated to the scientific advancements pertaining to fermentation science across agriculture, biology and chemistry. Additional courses would be required to understand the role of fermentation products in society and business.
A listing of all fermentation science (FMT) courses are available on the Course Description page.
A curriculum guide is also available for view (click image) or download. The guide contains an example template of how a student would be able to complete the degree in a 4-year time frame with all the required courses including core and supporting courses along with general education (names of each course is provided in the guide in the right column).
Students will also have the option to consider a Masters in Chemistry with the Accelerated Dual Degree (3+2) program. This program allow those students majoring in this program to obtain their Master's degree within a total of five years.
